50 Fun Facts About Me

  1. I love ghost hunting and have, so far, been to the Waverly Hills Sanatorium and Eastern State Penitentiary.
  2. I have actually written and published a novel.
  3. I’m currently working on another novel. A paranormal thriller.
  4. I have 4 dogs, two of them Saint Bernards, five cats, and a rabbit. That makes me an animal lover.
  5. I was born in Ohio and have lived here most of my life.
  6. When I’m not writing, I work as a programmer.
  7. I’m the oldest of 5 kids but am unable to have kids of my own.
  8. I’m a natural redhead.
  9. One of my favorite books is The Mysterious Island by Jules Verne. I’ve read it 6 times.
  10. I also love See You At The Top by Zig Ziglar.
  11. My favorite TV show is Ghost Adventures.
  12. I never watched a single episode of Lost and have no idea what it was about.
  13. I have a Facebook account but have no idea how to use it.
  14. I love Twitter.
  15. I’m lactose intolerant but LOVE ice cream.
  16. I have never smoked. Didn’t even try it as a kid.
  17. I prefer cool weather. Fall is my favorite season.
  18. I think snow is beautiful and don’t have a problem driving in it.
  19. My favorite city is Chicago.
  20. I’m only 5’3″ but it gives me a great excuse to flirt with tall guys in grocery stores.
  21. I love Hot Tamales candy.
  22. I rarely read one book at a time. I usually have 4 or 5 going at once.
  23. I know how to play the drums.
  24. I’m a good dancer.
  25. I can juggle. Not very well and not for long, but I can do it.
  26. I can’t sing at all. If I try, one of my dogs will howl until I stop.
  27. My favorite room in the house is my family room. Three of its 4 walls are all windows and it’s always bright and cheerful in there.
  28. I like to crochet in the winter and have won prizes for some of the afghans I’ve made.
  29. My grandmother passed away many years ago. When I bought my house in 2007 and contacted the phone company to have new phone service installed, the phone number assigned to me was the phone number that had belonged to my grandmother from before I was born until the day she died. I still get calls for her from charities she used to donate to.

  31. I dream of winning the lottery someday but rarely remember to play it.
  32. One of my closest friends is someone I’ve never met in person. I have known this person for 13 years only through letters, emails, and phone calls.
  33. I lost touch with my very best friend from high school after her mom died and she moved away. She found me by fluke 18 years later and it’s as if we were never apart. She’s still my best friend.
  34. I’m a great cook but hate cooking.
  35. I have nothing on my body pierced. Not even my ears.
  36. I have no tattoos but love to see interesting tattoos on other people.
  37. I’m allergic to NSAIDs and cannot take Motrin, Advil, aspirin or any other medication of that type.
  38. I’ve had two major surgeries and one Pulmonary Embolism in my lifetime.
  39. I have a college degree and graduated with a 4.0 GPA.
  40. I am terrible at public speaking.
  41. In college, I missed getting an A in speech class by one point. To keep my 4.0 GPA, I retook the whole class at my own expense and got an A the second time around.
  42. My favorite colors are black and white.
  43. The car I currently own is red.
  44. My house is an ugly beige color and needs to be painted. I’m thinking of painting it sage green but can’t think of a good accent color to go with it.
  45. I’m artistically challenged and not very good at coordinating colors.
  46. I wear glasses because contacts bother my eyes.
  47. I’d like to get laser vision correction but am not yet willing to spend the money to do it.
  48. Because of my Saint Bernards, I go through at least 3 vacuum cleaners a year. I need to try the Dyson Animal. I hear it’s pretty good.
  49. I don’t like hot weather and hate humidity, so I keep my A/C cranked up all summer long. Friends and family refer to my house as “the refrigerator.”
  50. I have a clear shower curtain and my cats are fascinated by watching me take a shower.
